Moore Challenges Obama

President Obama didn’t make friends with any video gamer this past week. In his speech to the American Medical Association where he was talking about investing more in preventive care so that we can avoid illness and disease, he said:

“It means going for a run or hitting the gym, and raising our children to step away from the video games and spend more time playing outside.”

And just yesterday, in Obama’s Fathers’ Day message to all Americans, he said in Sunday’s Parade Magazine:

“We need to set limits and expectations. We need to replace that video game with a book and make sure that homework gets done.”

Well, we knew that someone would fight back and try to prove our president wrong. That someone was none other than EA’s Peter Moore. On EA’s website, Moore challenged the president by posting the following:

“It may be time for the President and his family to put their Wii to good use and fire up the 30-Day Challenge with EA SPORTS Active. This is a “game” even the President may not want to “step away” from.”

Moore also said:

“Mr. President, here is my challenge to you: Try EA SPORTS Active and I guarantee you’ll need aides saying “Yes You Can!” to finish your first workout.”

Personally, I think it would be pretty awesome if Obama actually accepted the challenge. It would atleast show the nation that he is willing to accept that he can be wrong. Stay tuned to see how this unfolds.
